The Portfolio Holder for Education is a Member of the Executive and decides on matters relating to the Council’s responsibilities as an education authority and the provision of opportunities for education, training and learning outside the school environment for young people, including pre-school learning. This includes school places planning, school admissions, education welfare services, special educational needs, early years development and childcare, youth services and youth offending services, standards and effectiveness in schools and those education services provided via partnerships
