The Head of Development Management reported comments received from the applicant’s agent in regard to the boundary wall. Those comments were circulated to Members.

 

Members having considered the report and objections, RESOLVED that the application BE REFUSED for the following reason:-

 

1  The height, scale and amount of development is excessive and unsightly, it detracts from the character and appearance of the site and its setting and is harmful to the residential amenities of the area contrary to Policies 6 and 37 of the Bromley Local Plan 2019.

 

Members resolved to refuse the application contrary to the Assistant Director of Planning’s recommendation on the grounds that the development was excessive in size and scale, an overdevelopment of the site and out of keeping with the character and appearance of the area.

Comments from Ward Member Councillor Nicholas Bennett JP had been received and circulated to the Committee.

 

The Principal Tree Officer reported that site notices had been placed in the public domain and a site meeting had taken place with the management team of the Golf Club.  Members were advised that the management team would retract its objections on condition that the recommended modifications were included.

 

The duty of the Council to fully consult relevant parties had been carried out.
