REFUSED

Description of application – Demolition of 6 Ladywood Avenue (former Friends Meeting House) and construction of 2 no. two storey detached five bedroom dwellings with new vehicular access and associated parking and landscaping.

Oral representations in support of the application were received at the meeting.  Councillor Simon Fawthrop objected to the application and a copy of his statement is attached as Appendix 1 to these Minutes.  It was reported that four letters of support had been received.

Members having considered the report, objections and representations, RESOLVED that PERMISSION BE REFUSED for the following reason:-

1.  The proposal would be an overdevelopment of the site, out of character with the locality and Area of Special Residential Character and contrary to Policy BE1, H7 and H10 of the Unitary Development Plan and Policies 3.4 and 3.5 of The London Plan.
