REFUSED

Description of application – Change of use from retail shop (Class A1) to hot food take-away (Class A5) with installation of ventilation ducting at rear.

Oral representations from Ward Member Councillor Alexa Michael in objection to the application were received at the meeting.

It was reported that further objections to the application had been received.

Members having considered the report, objections and representations, RESOLVED that PERMISSION BE REFUSED for the following reason:-

1  The proposal is contrary to Policy S5 and S9 of the Unitary Development Plan by reason of the lack of evidence to demonstrate that the proposed development would not have an adverse and harmful impact on the viability and vitality of the Chatterton Road local neighbourhood centre and would lead to a proliferation of non-retail uses in this area.
