Description of application – Conversion of existing garage into a studio, to include first floor loft space, rear dormer and closed veranda with glass roof and patio with wood louvres shading.

 

Comments from Ward Member Councillor Suraj Sharma in support of the application were reported and circulated to Members. Following discussions, the applicant had agreed to alter the elevation on the ground floor flank, which backed onto the garden fence of No. 5, to soften the brick façade.

 

Members having considered the report, RESOLVED that PERMISSION BE GRANTED as recommended, subject to the conditions and informative set out in the report of the Chief Planner with the addition of a further condition to read:-

 

7  Prior to commencement of above ground works, details of the appearance (including facing materials) of the northern flank elevation shall be submitted to and approved in writing by the Local Planning Authority prior to the commencement of above ground works.  The works shall be carried out in accordance with the approved details.

 

Reason: In the interest of the appearance of the building and the visual amenities of the area and neighbouring properties and in order to comply with Policy BE1 of the Unitary Development Plan (2006), Policy 37 of the Draft Local Plan (2016) and Policies 7.4 and 7.6 of the London Plan (2016).
