The Improved Better Care Fund (IBCF) is a time
limited grant to local authorities for spending on adult social
care that was announced in the Spring Budget in March 2017 and
represents an increase on the amount of additional IBCF previously
announced in the November 2016 Spending review.
The IBCF grant can be spent ahead of the final NHS England approval
of the Better Care Fund as long as it has been agreed with the
council’s health and wellbeing partners. The purpose of this
report is to gain the agreement of the council to implement the
recommendations for the use of the IBCF.
