London Councils Housing Forum

Description

London Councils Housing Forum has representation from Councillors of the 33 boroughs to look at the overall objective to strengthen the boroughs' strategic housing role and to secure fair resources to address the issues of supply and demand for housing in London, quality and affordability. Its aim is to assist boroughs in ensuring that the interests of London boroughs are fully recognised. Some of the key issues currently being addressed in the business plan include:

 Revenue and Capital Finance

  • Choice Based Lettings and Mobility (Capital Moves Project)
  • Homelessness
  • Overcrowding
  • Community Engagement Taskforce
  • Settled Homes Initiatives
  • Service Charge Bills for Local Authority Leaseholders
  • Towards the Mayor's Housing Strategy
  • Housing Benefit Temporary Accommodation Costs and the Welfare Reform Bill
  • Child Poverty Commission (housing work strand)
