That the 2012/13 priorities and aims for the Education Portfolio be agreed.
That progress made against the 2011/12 Children and Young People Portfolio Plan be noted.
The priorities within the Children and Young People Services Portfolio Plan for 2011/12 aimed to “secure the best possible future for all children and young people in the Borough, including a clear focus on supporting the most vulnerable children and young people in our community”, underpinning the Building a Better Bromley – 2020 Vision theme of ‘children and young people’.
The draft priorities for the Education Portfolio for 2012/13 are aimed at “supporting improved quality of life through encouraging high aspirations, maximising independence, promoting healthy lives, and protecting the most vulnerable”, and will be developed in partnership with the priorities of the Care Services Portfolio to underpin the Building a Better Bromley – 2020 Vision theme of ‘children and young people’. Following consultation on the draft priorities with key stakeholders between June and July 2012, the final Priorities Framework Action Plan will be presented to the Education PDS Committee and the Care Services PDS Committee in September 2012, and will include the detailed actions planned to deliver each of the priority outcomes.
