Land at the rear of 161 - 165 Ravensbourne Avenue, Bromley

Decision Maker: Portfolio Holder for Resources, Commissioning and Contracts Management

Decision status: Recommendations Approved

Is Key decision?: Yes

Is subject to call in?: Yes

Decision:

That the land at the rear of 161-165 Ravensbourne Avenue, Bromley is declared to be surplus to Council requirements and its sale to two adjoining residential owners as two separate parcels of land be authorised.

Reasons for the decision:

This small parcel of unmanaged woodland is owned by the Council. The land is not easily accessible by the public, but there have recently been problems with anti-social behaviour. The Council has no use for the land so it has been offered to Affinity Sutton, who are developing the adjoining land, and to adjoining residential landowners. Affinity Sutton declined the offer, but the owners of 161 and 165 Ravensbourne Avenue have agreed preliminary terms for use as extensions to their respective gardens. A capital receipt will be generated for the Council, and the Council will also be entitled to 60% of any increase in value in the event that any development is carried out involving the land.
