Former Public Toilets

Decision Maker: Portfolio Holder for Resources, Commissioning and Contracts Management

Decision status: Recommendations Approved

Is Key decision?: Yes

Is subject to call in?: Yes

Decision:

That the proposals for each of the former public toilets at Chislehurst High Street, Coney Hall, Green Street Green, Priory Gardens, Elmers End, Locksbottom and Hayes (set out in the table at paragraph 3.12 of the report) be approved, and the marketing of the properties be authorised.

Reasons for the decision:

Following the implementation of the Community Toilet Scheme a number of public toilets have been closed and options have been sought for the buildings. It is proposed to market and sell the buildings through an agent wherever possible; if a sale is impractical the buildings will be demolished and the sites reinstated. The site at Chislehurst High Street will be investigated for possible use by the Chislehurst Town Team, and local community uses will be considered for the Green Street Green site in particular.
