1) The changes set out in the report be agreed, in particular:-
(i) the proposed changes to library operating hours (with the proviso that the operating hours at Mottingham Library be reviewed in six months’ time); and
(ii) the deletion of the mobile library service.
2) The Executive Committee be requested to agree the one-off funding of £275k for the purchase and installation of RFID equipment, to ensure that the full £300k savings are realised within 12 months of installation.
The review of the Library Service is entirely consistent with the Council’s Objectives around Vibrant and Thriving Town Centres as well as being in line with the Council’s broader financial strategy.
