Procurement Strategy - National Child Measurement Programme

Decision Maker: Portfolio Holder for Adult Care and Health

Decision status: Recommendations Approved

Is Key decision?: No

Is subject to call in?: Yes

Decision:

That the contract for the National Child Measurement Programme be procured starting 1st October 2017.

That Option 3 which proposes to procure the National Child Measurement Programme as a standalone service be agreed as the best option for procurement.

Reasons for the decision:

The National Child Measurement Programme is a mandated programme measuring height and weight in Reception year and Year 6 in all children in Bromley in maintained schools and academies, and is currently delivered via a joint block contract with the Bromley Clinical Commissioning Group which will end on 30th September 2017

Three options have been considered for the proposed future procurement of the National Child Measurement Programme which comprise that no action be taken, that the service be recommissioned as it is now, or that the National Child Measurement Programme be procured as a standalone service.  As there is a requirement to continue to provide this mandated service and it will not be possible to recommission the service as it is now as the joint block contract with Bromley Healthcare will end on 30th September 2017, it is recommended that Option 3 which proposes to procure the National Child Measurement Programme as a standalone service be progressed.
