Lewis House Management: Contract Award via Exemption to Competitive Tender Part 1 (Public) Information

Decision Maker: Portfolio Holder for Adult Care and Health

Decision status: Recommendations Approved

Is Key decision?: No

Is subject to call in?: Yes

Decision:

That the contract for housing management services at Lewis House be awarded for a period of five years from 1st January 2018 to 31st December 2022 with the option to extend for a further period of up to two years.

That authorisation to extend the contract for a period of up to two years be delegated to the Executive Director: Education, Care and Health Services in consultation with the Portfolio Holder for Care Services, the Director: Commissioning, the Director: Finance and the Director: Corporate Services.

Reasons for the decision:

Lewis House is a community venue which offers a range of services to Bromley residents, giving people with disabilities the opportunity to test out equipment and view adaptations before purchase.  This provision is currently delivered via a contract that is due to expire on 31st December 2017.  A recent tender process for the delivery of this provision failed to attract any bids, and to meet service need and ensure no break in service, the Director: Commissioning and Interim Director: Programmes granted authority for a new contract to be negotiated with the current provider.  A proposal to continue the contract with the current provider has subsequently been agreed and the Care Services PDS Committee has recommended that the contract be granted for a period of five years from 1st January 2018 to 31st December 2022, with the option to extend for a further period of up to two years.
