Amendment to report Hayes Village

That

The construction of the measures shown in drawings
13099-03 section 1 and 13099-03-Section 2 to improve the walking
environment in Hayes around the primary and secondary schools
be approved.

The installation of term time 20mph advisory signs,
as shown in drawings 13099-03-20mph in the streets outside both
Hayes Primary and Hayes Secondary Schools be approved.

Subject to detailed design, any minor alteration to
the design be delegated to the Director
of Environment and Public Protection, in consultation with the
Environment and Community Services Portfolio Holder.

Subject to the results of the public consultation,
the implementation of a trial School Street in George Lane, Hayes
be authorised.
- The Environment and Community Services PDS Committee receive an
intermediate report concerning the operation of the School Street
six months after the concept is implemented.
Reasons for the decision:
The
proposals will enhance the public realm in this part of Hayes and
reduce the dominance of traffic through the village, improving road
safety without simply displacing traffic into other roads, and
improve the walking environment to help give parents, children and
local residents better access to the schools and to local
amenities.
