Purpose:

The Portfolio Holder agreed to permit Council officers to carry out feasibility studies and to progress the scheme to an informal consultation and detailed design which was expected to take up to 6 months.

 

 

Decision:

The Portfolio Holder agreed to permit Council officers to carry out feasibility studies, conduct a review of the outcome of those studies and if appropriate progress a scheme to detailed design and an informal consultation.

Reasons for the decision:

The Portfolio Holder agreed to the investigations as they could be undertaken with in house resources and they might, if ranked highly enough, support priority 5 of the 2021-2022 Environment Portfolio Plan for improving Travel, Transport and Parking by:

 

-  Implementing new walking and cycle schemes.

-  Implementing road safety measures.

-  Implementing sustainable travel plans.

 

The proposed decision was scrutinised by the Environment and Community Services PDS Committee on 1st September 2021 and the Committee supported the proposal.
