Court Road/Goddington Lane - DANGER REDUCTION AND WALKING IMPROVEMENT SCHEME

Decision Maker: Portfolio Holder for Environment and Community Services

Decision status: Recommendations Approved

Is Key decision?: No

Is subject to call in?: Yes

Purpose:

Walking infrastructure and danger reduction scheme

Decision:

The Portfolio Holder approved that Council Officers should carry out an informal consultation, detailed design and then road safety audits--and that the scheme should subsequently be implemented taking into consideration any matters that may arise out of the consultation and the road safety audits.

The Portfolio Holder agreed that any minor design changes to the scheme that may be required should be delegated to the Director of Environment and Public Protection for authorization.

Reasons for the decision:

The Portfolio Holder made this decision as it would enable Council Officers to implement plans which would improve safety and pedestrian facilities on Court Road, by improving the crossing points on Court Road between Goddington Lane and the highway.

The proposed scheme supported priority five of the 2021-- 2022 Environment Portfolio Plan to improve travel, transport and parking by implementing road safety measures and by implementing sustainable travel plans.
