Planned Highway Maintenance

Decision Maker: Portfolio Holder for Environment and Community Services

Decision status: For Determination

Is Key decision?: No

Is subject to call in?: Yes

Decision:

The Portfolio Holder for Environment and Community Services agreed that the schemes listed in Appendix A and Appendix B of the Planned Highway Maintenance report be included in a programme of planned highway maintenance for 2022 to 2023, to be undertaken by the Council’s existing highway term maintenance contractor.

The Portfolio Holder also agreed that the decision to include additional schemes in the programme would be delegated to the Director of Environment and Public Protection in consultation with the Portfolio Holder, based on the results of further condition assessments.

Reasons for the decision:

The Environment Portfolio Plan included the key aim ‘to continue to invest in a timely and effective manner in our roads and pavements to maintain the value of our highway asset’. The Plan identified that the Council would ‘improve the condition of the highway network by completing and approved a major programme of road and pavement resurfacing’
