Description of application – Two storey side and single storey front extension.

 

Oral representations from Ward Member Councillor Charles Rideout in objection to the application were received at the meeting.

Members having considered the report, objections and representations, RESOLVED that PERMISSION BE REFUSED for the following reason:-

1  The proposed two storey side extension, by reason of its size, height and prominent location, would result in an overdevelopment of the site which is out of character and scale with neighbouring properties and would disrupt the established pattern of development within which the property lies, resulting in an incongruous addition to the street scene, thereby contrary to Policies BE1 and H8 of the Unitary Development Plan, the Council’s adopted Supplementary Planning Guidance 1: General Design Principles and Supplementary Planning Guidance 2: Residential Design Guidance and the National Planning Policy Framework.
