Agenda item

(17/04773/FULL6) - 98 Lower Gravel Road, Bromley BR2 8LJ

Decision:

REFUSED

Minutes:

Description of application – Roof alterations to accommodate a new bedroom and wash room. Alterations include increase ridge height, new rear dormer and roof lights.

Councillor Michael said that number 98 Lower Gravel Road was larger than the surrounding modest sized houses and referred to the history of the site and the reduction in height following a previous application but her view was that the proposed development was over-dominant that would be detrimental to the privacy and amenity of Numbers 96 and 100 Lower Gravel Road and she objected to the application.  Councillor Onslow agreed with Councillor Michael and also objected to the application.

Councillor Joel had visited the site and supported the application.

Members having considered the report and objections, RESOLVED that PERMISSION BE REFUSED for the following reason:-

1.  The proposal would result in an overdominant addition to host dwelling and an overdevelopment of the site, and would give rise to an unacceptable degree of overlooking and loss of privacy and amenity to the occupiers of neighbouring properties, contrary to Policies H8 and BE1 of the Unitary Development Plan and Policies 6 and 37 of the Draft Local Plan.
