Description of application – Variation of condition 1 of permission reference 16/02702 /RECON to increase the number of pupils aged over 17 years of age or older from 25 to 65 (The total number of pupils attending the school is not proposed to be increased beyond 225 as approved under 14/03754/VAR).

A late submission from the School had been received and circulated to Members. 

Members having considered the report and objections, RESOLVED that the APPLICATION BE APPROVED as recommended, subject to the conditions set out in the report of the Chief Planner with an amendment to the wording of Condition 1 to read:-

“1.  (i) The number of pupils attending the school shall not exceed 225 at any 

  one time.

   (ii) At any one time the age range of pupils attending the school shall 

  Comprise:-

• No more than 65 pupils over the age of seventeen and of this 65 pupils no more than 40 pupils attending the school shall be aged over twenty-two.

REASON: To protect the amenity of adjoining residents and preserve the character of the Conservation Area, to ensure highway safety, and in order to comply with Policies G1, BE11 and C7 of the adopted Unitary Development Plan.
