Decision:

CONTEST APPEAL

Minutes:

Description of application – Demolition of 128-130 Jackson Road and outbuildings and redevelopment with a 2 storey terrace of four 3 bedroom dwellinghouses with associated landscaping, parking, cycle and refuse stores and boundary treatments.

Councillor Michael acknowledged that a further application had been submitted but had yet to be validated but she was still of the opinion that the proposed development was inappropriate for the site, out of character in the street scene and would overlook 10 Hathaway Close.  At Plans Sub-Committee 3 on 21 December 2017 the application had been deferred for the erection of three small detached cottage style dwellings with pitched rooves and Councillors Michael and Joel were disappointed that the applicant had not taken this into consideration and supported the appeal being contested

Members having considered the report and objections, RESOLVED TO CONTEST THE APPEAL on the following ground:-

“1.  The proposal would result in a cramped overdevelopment of the site, out of character with the surrounding area and harmful to the amenities of local residents, contrary to Policies H7 and BE1 of the UDP, Draft Policy 4 and 37 of the Emerging Local Plan and Policies 7.4 and 7.6 of the London Plan.
