Petitions

One of the ways you can let the Council know your views and concerns is to submit a petition. Sometimes this will be about an issue specific to a particular local area or community, and sometimes it will be about an issue that may affect the whole borough and everyone living in it. Either way, petitions provide an opportunity for anyone who lives, works or studies in the Borough to help inform councillors' thinking and influence local decision making. Responding to them is part of the Council's ongoing commitment to listening to and acting on the views of the public.

The Council will only accept E-petitions created on its own website. You can view and sign existing E-petitions or create a new E-petition through the Council’s website at Current E-petitions.

Traditional paper-based petitions are also accepted by the Council and should be sent to the address below. To find out more about petitioning the Council, please read our petition scheme and guidance to petitioners
