The Executive has
eight Members and is the Council’s main decision-making
body. It is chaired by the Leader of
the Council. It either makes decisions
itself or seven of its Members who hold Portfolios decide on
matters relating to their specialist areas. The Portfolios
cover:
·
Adult Care & Health
·
Children, Education and Families
·
Renewal, Recreation and Housing
·
Resources, Commissioning and Contract Management
·

·

·

By law, the
Executive cannot take all Council decisions - some matters have to
be decided elsewhere, principally by the Development Control
Committee and the General Purposes and Licensing Committee and
their Sub-Committees.
