The Executive has
seven Members and is the Council’s main decision making
body. It is chaired by the Leader of
the Council. It either makes decisions
itself or six of its Members who hold Portfolios decide on matters
relating to their specialist areas. The Portfolios
cover:

Adult Care & Health;
·
Children, Education and Families;
·
Environment and Community Services;
·
Renewal, Recreation and Housing;
·
Resources, Commissioning and Contract Management;
·
Public Protection and Enforcement.
By law the Executive
cannot take all Council decisions - some matters have to be decided
elsewhere, principally by the Development Control Committee and the
General Purposes and Licensing Committee and their
Sub-Committees.
In accordance with the
Council’s Constitution, questions from the public that are
not specific to reports on the agenda must have been received in
writing by 5pm, 10 working days before the date of the meeting. The
deadlines are expected to be:
Meeting on 31st
March 2021: 5pm on Wednesday 17th March 2021
Questions specifically on
reports on the agenda should be received within two working days of
the normal publication date of the agenda. The deadline is given on
each agenda.
At special meetings, only
questions relating to reports on the agenda are taken.
